Status Code Definitions

❏ 200 OK
The server successfully processed the request. Generally, this means that the server provided the requested page.

❏ 400 Bad Request
This means the request cannot be fulfilled due to bad syntax.

❏ 401 Unauthorized
The request requires user authentication. The server might return this response for a page behind a login.

❏ 403 Forbidden
The server understood the request but is refusing to fulfill it. The authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 404 (Not Found) can be used instead.

❏ 404 Not Found
This means the server can’t find the requested page. For instance, the server often returns this code if the request is for a page that doesn’t exist on the server.

❏ 405 Method Not Allowed
This means the method specified in the request is not allowed. For example, using GET on a form which requires data to be presented via POST.

❏ 406 Not Acceptable
This response is sent when the web server, after performing server-driven content negotiation, doesn’t find any content that conforms to the criteria given by the user agent.

❏ 409 Conflict
This response is sent when a request conflicts with the current state of the server.

❏ 423 Locked (WebDAV)
The 423 (Locked) status code means the source or destination resource of a method is locked. This response SHOULD contain an appropriate precondition or postcondition code, such as ‘lock-token-submitted’ or ‘no-conflicting-lock’.

❏ 500 Internal Server Error
This means the server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from processing the request.

❏ 502 Bad Gateway
This means the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, received an invalid response from the upstream server it accessed in attempting to fulfill the request.

❏ 503 Service Unavailable
This means the server is currently unable to handle the request because it is overloaded or down for maintenance. Generally, this is a temporary state.

❏ 504 Gateway Timeout
This means the server while acting as a gateway or proxy, did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.

❏ 182 Queued
Indicates that the destination was temporarily unavailable, so the server has queued the call until the destination is available. A server may send multiple 182 responses to update progress of the queue.
